Innova is Latin for “renew.” Our mission is to preserve and create safe, energy-efficient and affordable housing while contributing to the sustainable redevelopment of transitional neighborhoods.

Innova has the following focus areas:

HOUSING DEVELOPMENT SERVICES: Innova represents owners in the design and construction of affordable housing and commercial developments, advancing practices that improve resource efficiency, component durability, and systems maintainability. Innova has overseen the design and construction of affordable housing and mixed-use developments throughout the eastern US, valued at over $1.0 billion.

MULTIFAMILY ENERGY: Innova’s core expertise is in understanding the needs of existing buildings  - solving elusive building failures, devising smart retrofit strategies for increasing building efficiency, enhancing resident comfort and safety, and preserving affordable housing for the long term. 

NEIGHBORHOOD REDEVELOPMENT: Through Innova’s development arm, Innova Redevelopment, LLC, we are working to reclaim and improve existing affordable housing in transitional communities, including Innova’s own South Philadelphia Neighborhood. Innova self-performs the construction for its own rehabilitation projects.

OCCUPIED HOUSING PRESERVATION: The preservation of existing occupied housing is an Innova forte.  As general contractor for Occupied Housing Rehabilitation projects, Innova facilitates the redevelopment of existing affordable multi-family developments without resident relocation. Innova also performs Capital Needs Assessments to assess building conditions and identify capital improvement investment priorities.

HOUSING RESEARCH:  Innova performs real world, project-based research to effect changes in local policy on affordable housing preservation, development, and building retrofit strategies.
